First of all let me start of by saying sorry for taking so long to post anything new on here. I’m not going to give you any lame excuse that I’ve been to busy its just simply that I never got round to doing it. Anyway I’m back now and I’m going to try my best to keep this blog flowing with useful information.

What I’m going to do is allow you, my Build Me A Website client base to suggest some things to post on here. If any of you have anything you would like to share with others please email me and I will get it posted. If you have a special offer on over the weekend and you would like the word spreading, let me know and we will see if the BMAWS blog could bring you some extra work. Alternatively if you have found anything interesting online that is helping you with your business let me know and I will share it here.

I’ve been asked a few times if Build Me A Website can supply business cards, unfortunately we don’t. But what I can do is recommend a company that I’ve been using for a few years now.

The last time I used VistaPrint I came away with a great bargain. I was ordering 1000 business cards just to test the water before going for a bulk order, as I was completing the order process I was asked if I would like another 500 cards for only an extra £7.50. I accepted the offer which brought the price per card down by around a third.

All new customers can get 250 business cards for free and every couple of weeks or so they send out further offers by email.

One thing I need to make you aware of before you place an order is a little thing they do that catches a few people out. When your creating an account/placing an order there will be a tick box or even just a little bit of small print that refers to VPRewards or ClubPrem, it will cost you £9.95 a month, don’t sign up for it you don’t need it. Its a rewards club, they are suppose to send you details of special offers in your local high street stores and from what I’ve heard the offers are far and few between.

Signing up for VPRewards/ClubPrem can easily be avoided by being sure what you are clicking on as it does say what you are about to do, and you could miss it by just clicking away and not reading properly what it is you are actually agreeing to.

If you do end up signing up for it by mistake don’t worry as its easy to unsubscribe, to be sure just keep an eye on your bank statements after placing your order.

Sorry if that all sounded a bit negative but I would sooner you know about it and not get caught out.

A positive note, your VistaPrint account remembers your previous orders which makes it so easy to re-order more cards. They offer so much more than just business cards, I have a client who has used them for his letter headed paper, flyers, business cards, wedding invitations and lots more.

The card below is if I remember rightly one of the free 250 business cards I received when I opened my account, its not brilliant but it did a job for me and thats all I needed at the time.

VistaPrint are certainly worth a look.

Hope you are all well and keeping busy, in this weeks newsletter I want to tell you about the new BMAWS Blog and a great podcast I recently came across.

First of the blog. If you don’t already know what a blog is here is a simple explanation.

The term blog is short for web log, a “log” of diary-like entries published on a web site. This is how it started, people publishing their daily thoughts for all to read on their website. Often the blog entries occur as short, quick snippets – a link to something cool found on the web, an opinion, an idea, a rant. And sometimes they are longer, thoughtful essays. Sometimes new entries are produced every few minutes, and sometimes just once and a while. It all depends on the author and what she or he wants to express.

Now let me tell you about the podcast I’ve found. I’ve known about podcasts for a while but never really taken the time to listen to any. I recently got a new mp3 player and thought it would be a good idea to find something other than music to listen to. I did a search and came across a great business podcast that has been around for a couple of years, ok so I’m kicking myself for not finding it sooner but the good thing is all the past podcasts are archived on the site so can be easily downloaded. I’ve started from number 1 and I’m up to number 23 now, I recommend you try and listen to them all as they have all been been good so far.
