I did find a few Apps that helped but non of them were perfect, until I found the free app ‘Groupy’.

Groupy provides a simple interface to create and manage groups of your contacts from your iPhone or iPod Touch. It allows you to create, delete, rename groups as well as to add and remove contacts from your groups. Groups created in Groupy will be recognized by the Contacts App and will by synchronized back to your Mac or PC.

Visit the Groupy website or find it on itunes.

Email is second only to web browsing in terms of how people spend most of their time on the internet. But despite it consuming so much of our time, little thought is put into the software we use to do it. Most people will be familiar with Outlook Express as it comes installed on most PCs when you first buy them. But there is a good selection of free alternatives available, some of which offer more functions and features.

A new kind of messaging application, the Postbox™ email client helps you spend less time managing email and more time using email to get things done. Postbox automatically analyzes your e-mail messages, documents, photos, and links to web pages; then it catalogs all this information making it faster to search for and retrieve.

Easy-to-use tagging features let you organize messages the way you want and then focus on one project at a time without missing out on important new messages. You can also view messages by conversation, edit messages, and create to-do items that appear in mailbox windows. For Windows and Macintosh.

Hi again,

What about that, two posts in one day, I am getting good.

Ok I want to tell you about this fantastic deal a friend of mine informed me about. Mobile Broadband for your Laptop/PC for half the normal price, I’ve ordered one and the deal does work.

I got a free USB Mobile Broadband Modem with 1GB of bandwidth, which is enough for a bit of surfing and checking emails while away from the office. Its only costing me £5 a month for 18 months, should normally be £10 a month.

If you would like to take advantage of this offer you will need the promotional code “daisy” (without the quotation marks). Click the link below and when you get to the checkout remember to enter “daisy” into the promotional code box.

As far as I can see the code works with all the Mobile Broadband packages available. You will see there are a few different USB modems, they are all the same they just look different, I called Three and asked the question.

Link – www.three.co.uk

Hope you find this useful.

All the best
John

Hello again,

I’ve been asked a few times if Build Me A Website can supply business cards, unfortunately we don’t. But what I can do is recommend a company that I’ve been using for a few years now.

The last time I used VistaPrint I came away with a great bargain. I was ordering 1000 business cards just to test the water before going for a bulk order, as I was completing the order process I was asked if I would like another 500 cards for only an extra £7.50. I accepted the offer which brought the price per card down by around a third.

All new customers can get 250 business cards for free and every couple of weeks or so they send out further offers by email.

One thing I need to make you aware of before you place an order is a little thing they do that catches a few people out. When your creating an account/placing an order there will be a tick box or even just a little bit of small print that refers to VPRewards or ClubPrem, it will cost you £9.95 a month, don’t sign up for it you don’t need it. Its a rewards club, they are suppose to send you details of special offers in your local high street stores and from what I’ve heard the offers are far and few between.

Signing up for VPRewards/ClubPrem can easily be avoided by being sure what you are clicking on as it does say what you are about to do, and you could miss it by just clicking away and not reading properly what it is you are actually agreeing to.

If you do end up signing up for it by mistake don’t worry as its easy to unsubscribe, to be sure just keep an eye on your bank statements after placing your order.

Sorry if that all sounded a bit negative but I would sooner you know about it and not get caught out.

A positive note, your VistaPrint account remembers your previous orders which makes it so easy to re-order more cards. They offer so much more than just business cards, I have a client who has used them for his letter headed paper, flyers, business cards, wedding invitations and lots more.

The card below is if I remember rightly one of the free 250 business cards I received when I opened my account, its not brilliant but it did a job for me and thats all I needed at the time.

VistaPrint are certainly worth a look.

Hope this helps, chat soon.
John

I’ve heard this book mentioned a few times on a couple of different podcasts, thought it would be a good idea to get a copy and see for myself. So far its a fantastic read and I highly recommend it to you all, I picked up a copy for only £7.63 delivered from ‘Amazon‘.

Amazon

A little about the book

You’re either a Purple Cow or you’re not. You’re either remarkable or invisible. Make your choice. What do Apple, Starbucks, Dyson and Pret a Manger have in common? How do they achievespectacular growth, leaving behind former tried-and-true brands to gasp their last? The old checklist of P’s used by marketers – Pricing, Promotion, Publicity – aren’t working anymore.

The golden age of advertising is over. It’s time to add a new P – the Purple Cow.”Purple Cow” describes something phenomenal, something counterintuitiveand exciting and flat-out unbelievable. In his new bestseller, Seth Godin urges you to put a Purple Cow into everything you build, and everything you do, to create something truly noticeable.

It’s a manifesto for anyone who wants to help create products and services that are worth marketing in the first place.

What people are saying about the book

“I love this book! Part wake up call, part action plan, Seth Godin’s Purple Cow shows organizations how to add distinction and avoid extinction-in today’s new economy.”

“Seth Godin may be the best intuitive marketer alive today. He’s in that tiny subset of the niche within the microcommunity of people who simply get it.”

“Purple cow is great inspiration for marketers who have the guts to make real changes and real impact!”

“Definitely above the herd of typical marketing books.”

“I read this book and it changed my life. Being remarkable is the most important aspect when doing business. Traditional advertising and mass marketing is old-fashioned.
By being remarkable, you need to use your imagination capital, in order to create a purple cow.
Once you’ve created a Purple Cow, you can count on it to drive more traffic to your website or boost your growth. But it doesn’t stop here, you have to milk it and think about the next step, that is launching another Purple Cow.”
